This wine is produced exclusively from pre-phylloxera vines, some over 100 years old, grown in very poor, sandy soils. The 2022 vintage is a testament to the resilience of these ancient vines, which naturally produce tiny yields of incredibly concentrated fruit. It is the most "meditative" wine of the range, built for long-term aging. Tasting Note: Matsu El Viejo has a very intense nose from the barrel-ageing with developed black fruit aromas, well integrated with the toasted, spiced and smoked notes. Corpulent in the mouth with very mature and round tannins that give it sweetness. Long and persistent aftertaste of mature fruit perfectly assembled with the roasted character of the wood.
