Edinburgh Elixir from the historic Florentine perfume-pharmaceutical shop Santa Maria Novella is a digestive liqueur made from medicinal herbs, pleasantly smooth and bittering. Among the shop's oldest spirits, the original recipe is said to have belonged to a Dominican monk from Edinburgh who was visiting Florence in the 17th century.
