  • Description
Château la Mission Haut-Brion is located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation, classified as Crus Classés in the 1953 Graves classification. La Mission Haut-Brion is the sister estate of Château Haut-Brion. The winery belongs to the Graves wine region, in the commune of Talence with an additional estate in Pessac. The winery also produces a second wine from younger vines, La Chapelle de la Mission, since the 1991 vintage, and the dry white wine Château La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc since the merger of Château Laville Haut-Brion in 2010. The vineyards extend over 21 hectares between Pessac and Léognan. The white Château La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc, has an annual production of 500 to 700 cases. The 2021 La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc has a much more nuanced bouquet than this year’s Haut-Brion Blanc, with scents of Japanese yuzu, crushed rock, apple blossom and a hint of elderflower. The palate is very well balanced, with a refined acidity line — tight and fresh, lively and focused. This wine is tighter and more linear than Haut-Brion, but the precision on the finish is a delight.
