Every vineyard is cultivated with the utmost care, with a focus on biodiversity, healthy soils, and low yields. In the cellar, the focus is exclusively on spontaneous fermentation using natural yeasts, a high proportion of whole clusters, and completely natural aging. Le Clos Goillotte: a unique monopole among the greatest Grand Crus Le Clos Goillotte is an exceptional monopole of Domaine Prieuré Roch and is one of the most remarkable vineyards in Vosne-Romanée. The estate is literally nestled between legendary Grand Crus such as La Tâche , Romanée-Conti , La Grande Rue , and Romanée-Saint-Vivant . There are few places in Burgundy where so much history and exceptional terroir come together. The shallow calcareous clay soil on a hard limestone subsoil naturally limits yields and gives the wine its characteristic combination of finesse, tension, and mineral depth. The old vines produce small, concentrated grapes that fully reflect the unique identity of this historic clos. The 2022 volume 2022 is one of the finest recent Burgundy vintages. Thanks to a warm growing season with sufficient coolness during the nights, the grapes reached optimal ripeness without losing their natural tension. The wines combine exceptional aromatic richness with refined acidity, silky tannins, and impressive aging potential. Vinification As with all wines from Domaine Prieuré Roch, the grapes are harvested entirely by hand and carefully selected. Fermentation proceeds spontaneously with natural yeasts, with a significant portion of the grapes being processed as whole bunches. This method enhances the aromatic complexity, refined spiciness, and natural structure of the wine. After fermentation, the wine ages quietly in French oak. The aging process supports the terroir without dominating the wine. Clarification and filtration are deliberately omitted, allowing the wine to retain its full energy, texture, and personality.
