2021 Talbot Caillou Blanc de Talbot

Château Talbot takes its name from the heroic English commander Connetable Talbot, who was killed at the Battle of Castillon in 1453. The largest and one of the oldest Château of Saint Julien, it is ideally situated a short distance from the Gironde, where the vineyards lie on a subsoil of fine gravel and produce one of the finest red wines of Saint Julien. The Caillou Blanc de Talbot 2023 shows a fresh, delicate bouquet of lemon, lemon oil, grapefruit, herbs and spring flowers. Medium-bodied, lean and fruity, long with an elegant core of fruit and a delicious, slightly phenolic finish. This is a blend of mainly Sauvignon Blanc supplemented with Sémillon.
