The estate was already mentioned in the 18th century under the name “Fazilleau” before receiving its current name in the 19th century. Since 1990, Château L'Évangile has belonged to Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), a guarantee of absolute quality and care for the terroir. The vineyards border directly on those of the renowned Château Pétrus, which emphasizes the exceptional character of this location. Location, climate and wine style in Pomerol Pomerol is located on the right bank of the Bordeaux region and enjoys a temperate maritime climate. The soils consist of clay and gravel with ferrous sublayers, which contributes to the power and elegance of the Merlot. Château L'Évangile produces wines with depth, finesse, and exceptional aging potential. The 2024 vintage benefited from a complex growing season with mild summers and a long ripening period. Grapes, harvest and vinification of Château L'Évangile 2024 The blend of the 2024 vintage consists of 80% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon. The buds developed in late March, flowering occurred around June 6, and véraison (color change) began on August 1. The harvest took place from September 18 to October 2, carefully spaced to ensure optimal ripeness. Despite the humid spring and coulure during flowering, quality remained high thanks to meticulous care and organic practices. The grapes were vinified plot by plot and subsequently aged in French oak barrels with a balanced use of new wood. Color, aroma and taste of Château L'Évangile 2024 In the glass, Château L'Évangile 2024 displays a deep ruby red color with purple reflections. The bouquet opens with notes of black cherries, fresh figs, graphite, and a hint of violets. Swirling reveals aromas of cedarwood, fresh herbs, and subtle mineral accents. On the palate, the wine is powerful yet polished, with silky tannins and precise acidity. The long finish carries notes of mocha, plums, and a hint of white pepper. The Château L'Évangile 2024 showcases the power of Pomerol with a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Order wines from Château L'Évangile online?
