- Description
Founded in the 17th century, this 4th Grand Cru Classé was broken up and dispersed as a result of multiple inheritances. In 1982, through a combination of luck and perseverance, Henri Martin managed to reconstitute the estate as it was known in 1855, the year of the famous classification. Since then, thanks to the commitment of its owners, Saint-Pierre has become universally known as a perfect representative of the Saint-Julien Grands Crus Classés. The Château Saint-Pierre is a fleshy, sensual wine that bursts from the glass with aromas of cherry, blackberry and subtle spices. Full, velvety and enveloping, seamless and polished, with a sweet core of fruit, melting tannins and juicy acidity, ending with a beautifully defined finish. The Saint-Pierre is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon 75%, Merlot 15% and 10% Cabernet Franc. Jeb Dunnuck - 97+ points - " A real wow wine in the making" Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW - 97 points - "The medium to full-bodied palate has a firm, grainy texture and oodles of freshness supporting the taut, muscular black fruits, finishing long with bags of grace and perfume. This is beautiful ."
