The Bogle family has been active in agriculture for over 100 years. Since the late 1960s, they have also grown grapes in California's Clarksburg wine region and later in Lodi. Bogle is certified by several agencies: California Certified Sustainable Winegrowing, Lodi Rules Certified Green Certificate, and the Sacramento Area Sustainable Business Certificate. The Bogle Phantom Red is Bogle Vineyards' flagship red wine. A blend of 52% Petite Sirah and 48% Zinfandel, it has been aged for 25 months in 2- to 3-year-old American oak barrels. The nose reveals aromas of baked cherries, leather, and ripe cranberries, framed by notes of nutmeg, peppercorns, anise, and juniper from the Petite Sirah and Zinfandel varietals. Don't be fooled by the alluring nose. Upon first sip, the Phantom is generous and mouth-filling with dark fruit and ample tannins.
