The Baglio del Cristo di Campobello C'D'C' comes from Sicily, Italy. Baglio del Cristo is now regarded as one of the best wineries in Sicily, which is currently seen as a rapidly emerging Italian wine region. In 2000, the Bonetta brothers began planting the first vines in Agrigento. The family wanted to realize their dream of producing wines of the highest quality. They have succeeded admirably; the wines were released in 2009 and immediately won awards. The Sicilia Syrah Lusirà represents an impressive effort by Baglio del Cristo di Campobello. The Lusira features a very happy marriage between the Syrah grape and the Sicilian terroir. Unlike the Nero d'Avola, the wine has more aromas of dark fruit, cured meat, and black pepper that are very specific to this grape. The beauty of this Lusira is that these wonderful flavors are not masked by excessive oak. The texture of the wine is soft and round, with beautiful notes and flavors of leather and tobacco in the finish.
