- Description
Since its first vintage in 1990, Domaine Serene has produced award-winning wines, including Evenstad Reserve Pinot Noir, recognized as the world's #3 wine of 2013 by Wine Spectator Magazine. The art of terroir-driven blending has been the hallmark of Domaine Serene's winemaking program for over 30 years. It is this artistry that has made 'Evenstad Reserve' a reference and is the flagship of Domaine Serene and is therefore the benchmark for Oregon Pinot Noir since the first vintage in 1990. Under the Tab: Annex you will find a beautiful presentation about the famous Domaine Serene which can proudly say "AMERICA'S MOST ACCLAIMED WINERY" They can say this because they have more than 400 WINE SPECTATOR & WINE ENTHUSIAST 90+ SCORED WINES The 'Evenstad Reserve' Chardonnay comes from the vineyard located in the Dundee Hills - the Grandcru area in the Willamette Valley appellation. As the owner of top wines in Burgundy (including Chateau de La Cree), it is not surprising that Domaine Serene, as with the Pinot Noirs, uses Dijon clone vines. This, together with the soil type (limestone and pebble), the same latitude and the high location of the vineyards in Dundee Hills, makes the Chardonnay Evenstad Reserved an unprecedented beautiful wine comparable to the top wines from Burgundy This acclaimed wine has an enticing tropical medley of kiwi and yellow peach, with high notes of white flower. The palate has an impressive fluidity with intense, fleshy pears and white peaches, laced with a savory, toasted hazelnut. The oak treatment is perfectly integrated, with a lingering minerality and saltiness and acidity that completes the whole. This wine will certainly deserve a place in the cellar of the discerning collector of fine Chardonnays. 96 points - James Suckling 94 points - Wine lover - Cellar selection 95 points - Owen Bargreen 93 points - Robert Parker Wine Advocate 93 points - International Wine Report GOLD Medal - San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition ABOUT DOMAINE SERENE Since its first vintage in 1990, Domaine Serene has produced award-winning wines, including Evenstad Reserve Pinot Noir, recognized as the world's #3 wine of 2013 by Wine Spectator Magazine. In addition, the 2012 Winery Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir was named the Top Pinot Noir in the World by Decanter magazine in 2016 and the 2014 Evenstad Reserve Chardonnay received 95 points and was ranked the #2 wine in the world in Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of the year. This made Domaine Serene the only winery in the world to receive a Top 3 rating in Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of the Year for both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. In 2017, the 2013 Jerusalem Hill Pinot Noir was awarded the Top American Pinot Noir at the Decanter World Wine Awards. The continuous pursuit of quality and innovation has earned Domaine Serene worldwide recognition as an iconic quality leader of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. For the past 30 years, Domaine Serene, under the leadership of the Evenstads, has been focused on excellence in a never-ending quest to produce world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Their mission is to produce outstanding quality through continuous improvement and a commitment to extremely high standards. Domaine Serene wines represent the achievement possible in Oregon, one of the most beautiful regions in the world for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. In April 2015, with their aim to be the undisputed champion with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the Evenstads bought the famous Château de la Crée (one of the top Burgundian wine estates in the Côte d'Or) and on June 18, 2021 the relationship between Oregon and Burgundy has become even closer with the acquisition of Domaine Christian Confuron & Fils. The domain includes 15 hectares of grands crus and premiers cru vineyards in the Côte de Nuits
