The wine is made by José Manuel Pérez Ovejas, named Winemaker of the Year 2018. This new wine is already seen as a possible successor to the iconic (Flor) Pingus. In 2018 he introduced his single vineyard wine: Dominio de Calogía. The wine is bright dark ruby red in the glass. In the nose an expressive impression of everything Ribera del Duero and Tempranillo stand for: ripe red and black fruit, cocoa, liquorice, a hint of herbs and mineral notes. The attack is powerful and structured, but with sufficient freshness and elegance. Although the wine is still young, it is already showing its class. Decanting is recommended. The 2020 harvest was also excellent, which contributes to the impressive storage potential: this Calogía can easily mature until at least 2040. The wines will be sold via an allocation system all over the world so availability is very low. Max 3 bottles per customer.
