- Description
Chateau Miraval also offers a high-end rosé, namely the Château Miraval Sainte-Victoire Rosé. This wine is a beautiful, high-quality rosé that will amaze every wine lover. The grapes come from the Sainte-Victoire region of Provence, famous for its rich limestone soil. This results in a beautiful, full-bodied, fruity rosé with refined minerality, which is gastronomically versatile. The terroir of Sainte-Victoire consists of plots with clay-limestone soil, situated on slopes overlooking the upper reaches of the Arc Valley. These vineyards are spread across two opposing hills: south of the Sainte-Victoire mountain and north/northwest of the Aurélien mountain range. The Mediterranean climate in this region ensures an exceptional number of sunshine hours and is strongly influenced by the Mistral wind. The thermal amplitude (temperature fluctuations between day and night) is particularly pronounced here, due to the more continental character of the terroir compared to the Arc Valley. Thanks to these conditions, the grapes ripen perfectly while simultaneously retaining their freshness and natural acidity. For this selection of plots, the grapes were harvested at night to preserve all the freshness of the fruit. Vinification took place at controlled temperatures, always with the aim of retaining the fresh aromas. This was followed by a short aging on fine lees to give the wine more structure and depth. Color: Elegant pale pink, clear and sparkling in the glass. Nose: Fine and refined, opens with aromas of peach and fresh melon, which then develop into more complex notes of lychee and cherry blossom. Taste: A perfect balance between seduction and freshness, typical of the chalky terroir of Sainte-Victoire. The palate is fleshy, full, and complex, with delicious aromas of peach, apricot, and lychee, followed by a long, fresh, soft, and saline finish. The Miraval Sainte-Victoire Rosé is gastronomically versatile. It pairs beautifully with lightly grilled fish dishes, Mediterranean salads, (spiced) goat cheese, or Provençal dishes such as ratatouille or tapenades. ABOUT MIRAVAL Château Miraval belonged to Jacques Loussier, a jazz pianist and wine enthusiast, from 1970. He produced the Miraval rosé under the name Pink Floyd. A few years ago, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt leased Château Miraval for a period of three years. Since then, the Château was purchased by the Hollywood couple in 2008 and, following their divorce, is now owned by Brad Pitt, who also spends time there very regularly. The wine cellar dates back to the early 19th century and was renovated in the 1990s; the wooden barrels rest in the cellar of the original farmhouse (dating back to around 1300), which was completely renovated in 1995. The vineyards surrounding the Château are situated on a slope at an altitude of 350 meters, which is what makes the Miraval wines so elegant and refined. The rosé is the result of a collaboration between the Hollywood couple and the respected Perrin wine family, one of the largest and most successful wine families in the world. They are particularly renowned for their world-class winery, Château de Beaucastel, on the Rhône. Here, art and knowledge come together. And that is exactly what the wines of Pitt & Perrin reflect
