  • Description
According to specialists, one of the 100 most beautiful wines in the world and the Domaine Trapet Chambertin Grand Cru is the best-known Grand Cru parcel of Gevrey-Chambertin. Domaine Trapet has more than 1.90 hectares of vines, the oldest plantings of which date from 1919. The wine has received a special mention of 20/20 in the Revue des Vins de France and therefore has a grand, evocative name. Chambertin was once the wine of the court of the royal families and even today this impressive wine is spoken with awe. From plots located exclusively in lieu-dit En la Chapelle, Trapet's 2018 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru offers an inviting bouquet of cassis, plums, dark chocolate and tantalizing spices, framed by a refined touch of toasted new oak. Medium to full bodied, this wine is deep, layered and fine in structure, built around elegantly chalky tannins enveloped by a vibrant core of fruit. FACT: The wine is in our conditioned Wine Warehouse and if you pick up the wine you will often receive a nice discount . You will see your discount immediately when you choose 'Collect' on the checkout page. We are located in Dordrecht almost next to the A16 with plenty of parking. Click here for our address. About Chapelle-Chambertin Chapelle-Chambertin takes its name from a chapel originally built around 1155 AD by the monks of Bèze Abbey. Although the chapel itself was destroyed during the French Revolution, the vineyard continues to produce world-class wines. Chapelle-Chambertin is one of nine Grand Cru vineyards located along "La Route des Grands Crus" in the Côte de Nuits, Burgundy, and only approximately 2,000 cases of Pinot Noir wines are produced annually from this location. Due to limited production, the wines are not easy to find. If you get your hands on one, you can expect the lightest style of all Grands Crus—with notes of red cherry, purple flowers and delicate, but still noticeable tannins. Don't let their delicate nature keep you from storing these wines—they will keep for 10 to 20 years
