2019 Château Quintus Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

Château Quintus is the fifth winery in the Domaine Clarence Dillon family. The name 'Quintus' pays tribute to the Gallo-Romans, the original winegrowers of Saint-Émilion, who were in the habit of naming their fifth child 'Quintus'. The 2019 Quintus has a deep red color with crimson accents. The bouquet is powerful, intense and complex, bursting with notes of ripe black fruit, especially blackcurrants. Subtle, spicy undertones are already noticeable. The wine starts broad and fleshy, with a remarkable velvety feel, developing into a full-bodied wine with soft, creamy, fine-grained tannins mid-palate. The aftertaste is long and without any harshness. A perfect combination of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, where the qualities of both grape varieties are fully appreciated.
