- Description
History of Le Chiuse and the Montalcino wine region Le Chiuse is a family-run winery in Montalcino, Tuscany, led by Lorenzo Magnelli. The winery produces primarily organic wines and is known for its traditional production methods and focus on quality. The Montalcino region is famous for its Sangiovese grapes, with hilly vineyards, chalky soils, and a Mediterranean climate. The warm daylight and cool nights create an optimal balance of fruit, acidity, and tannins. About the Le Chiuse Rosso di Montalcino Le Chiuse's Rosso di Montalcino is an accessible, elegant Sangiovese. The wine displays a clear structure and fresh fruit expression, with the subtle complexity typical of this estate's wines. Careful selection of grapes from specific vineyard sections creates a refined balance between intensity and clarity. Grapes, harvest and vinification This wine is made entirely from certified organic Sangiovese grapes, hand-picked from vineyards facing the setting sun. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve the fresh fruit and aromatic clarity. After fermentation, the wine is briefly aged in large oak barrels, which creates a soft structure and harmonious balance without overshadowing the fruit. Production of this vintage is always limited to a maximum of 15,000 bottles, underscoring its exclusivity. Color, smell and taste of the wine In the glass, the Rosso di Montalcino displays a bright ruby red color. The bouquet opens with fresh notes of cherry, grilled watermelon, and a hint of orange, creating a lively and approachable impression. The palate is friendly and direct, with juicy red fruits, soft tannins, and a light, elegant structure. The wine combines freshness with a light depth, making it both charming and interesting enough to age well into the future. Serving tips and storage potential This Rosso is at its peak between 2025 and 2032. Serve at 16-18°C in a wide glass to fully express the fruit and crisp acidity. The wine's elegant balance makes it a versatile accompaniment to a variety of dishes, from light meat dishes to vegetable-rich meals. Would you like to order Le Chiuse wines online?
