Joseph Drouhin was a daring and enterprising young man from the Chablis region. In 1880, at the age of 22, he settled in Beaune and founded his own winery there. His aim was to offer high-quality wines that would bear his name. With almost 90 different appellations, Joseph Drouhin offers a fascinating range of Burgundian terroirs in all their authenticity and subtle variations. Joseph Drouhin has adopted the organic and biodynamic approach. Only natural products are used in the vineyards and all procedures show the utmost respect for the soil, the vine and the environment. Joseph Drouhin's style is an alliance of character, balance and harmony. Wines intended to be drunk young are fresh and subtle; those intended to be kept acquire a sumptuous complexity with age. The Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru comes from east-facing vineyards in Les Languettes, a small production of six barrels. The wine has an intense golden color. In the nose there are subtle notes of rose, fresh almond, citrus, honey, exotic wood and spices. Majestic and well-balanced in the mouth. Generous and lively at the same time. Intense and complex finish. All the aromas mingle and linger for a long time. A wine of unmistakable Grandcru level.
