The Livio Sassetti family has been producing wine in the Italian region of Montalcino for over three generations. The Podere Pertimali and its 16 hectares of vineyards are located in the Montosoli region, north of Montalcino, a particularly well-known area for the cultivation of Sangiovese. True to the teachings of his family, Livio has over time renewed and expanded the vineyards, preserving the genetic legacy of the old vines. The Riserva is only made in the top years and comes from fruit from the best plots and gets an even longer barrel and bottle aging. In the glass, the Livio Sassetti Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is a very deep dark red color. The nose is powerful and complex red with dried berries, cherries, flowers and spices. Herbs, leather and balsam herb appear on the back. It has firm tannins and a robust structure that it will continue throughout its aging years. This is very intense and beautiful with a minute long finish. The wine was not released until around March 2021
