2019 Tim Mondavi Continuum Proprietary Red Magnum

The 2019 Proprietary Red Continuum is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Cabernet Franc, 7% Petit Verdot and 6% Merlot all from the estate's vineyard on Pritchard Hill. Aged in two-thirds new French oak, with the balance in barrels for second or third use and a single concrete amphora. In the glass, this killer is colored deep garnet purple. On the nose an incredible array of seductive aromas of violet, lavender, rosehip, cherry, currant, dark chocolate, cigar box plus hints of bay leaves and a sort of crushed wet slate. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with vibrant black fruit. fueled by red fruit, spice and mineral notes. It is framed with firm, gritty, super ripe tannins and ends with fantastic fragrance and freshness. This is (once again) a masterpiece by Tim Mondavi and his team and is a wine that can age gracefully without any problems. If you want to drink it in the short term, we recommend that you decant it, so that the wine can show its true character. You can keep this wine for at least another 30+ years.
