- Description
The La Piu Belle Rosé Limited edition of vintage 2023 is the 5th vintage of this unprecedentedly beautiful rosé wine from VIK. This version is a magnum that they always give a little more time in terms of aging. The wine only arrived in Europe in 2025 and always comes a season later than the regular 0.75 bottle. This is incomparable in terms of wine and sampling with almost all rosés and VIK Winery itself calls it their new Masterpiece. It is a blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 4% Syrah coming from the vineyards in the Andes in Millahue, Cachapoal Valley. In addition to the unique mineral soil, the cool sea breeze blowing against the flanks of the Andes and the height of the vineyards certainly ensure the distinctive character. This provides unprecedented freshness and elegance. Part of the La Piu Belle Rosé magnum is also aged for almost 6 months in used French oak barrels and then undergoes a long bottle maturation. The grapes were naturally harvested by hand in early March with a double selection. In order to preserve the aromas, the wine is pressed 100% whole and undergoes a long, cold fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Energetic and elegant, that is the La Piu Belle. The wine is fruity with a dry finish. The Cabernet Sauvignon gives the nose ripe red berries and round tannins in the middle of the mouth. Cabernet Franc adds accents of graphite and floral scents of lavender and violet. The Syrah some spicy mineral tones. Mixed, they present aromas of summer stone fruit, apricots and passion fruit with a surprising hint of citrus in the finish. This is a great wine with smoked salmon on toast with ricotta and extra virgin olive oil. Fresh pappardelle with tomato sauce, grated parmesan and basil leaves. Lobster baked in butter and steamed fresh vegetables or with paella but certainly just as nice to have a glass of and enjoy solo. This is incomparable to the average rosé and is a wine that can easily be kept for a few years certainly this magnum version In the tab: Attachment you will find the official factsheet of this wine. Click here for address About Viña Vik Winery In 2004, Alex and Carrie Vik started with a whole team with the audacious goal of making one of the best wines in the world. After a two-year search, they found the best terroir, located in the Millahue Valley in Chile. Millahue Valley means “Place of Gold”. The vineyard is planted in the interior of the valley and offers a variety of terroirs and small microclimates cooled by the coastal breezes. The vineyards consist of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah. The winery was designed by Chilean architect Smiljan Radic in collaboration with Alex and Carrie Vik. It was carefully designed to have minimal impact on the landscape. A state-of-the-art, highly sustainable, technologically creative and visually breathtaking experience. The winery was completed in 2014. Under the leadership of Chilean Patrick Valette (wine consultant, Château Pavie and with French roots) and current winemaker Cristián Vallejo, who has been involved in the project from the beginning, a wonderful company has been established since 2005. The work is very sustainable, harvests are completely manual and fermentation takes place naturally without added yeasts. Today, VIK produces four exceptional red wines and a rosé. They are rightly very proud that VIK, La Piu Belle, Milla Cala and "A" have received ratings well into the 90s, such as 99 points from James Suckling, a Master Medal from The Drink Business and platinum and gold medals from the Decanter, along
