The Bogle family has been active in agriculture for over 100 years. Since the late 1960s, they have also grown grapes in California's Clarksburg wine region and later in Lodi. The Merlot grapes come from the Clarksburg, Lodi, and Monterey appellations. The warm days, tempered by cool nights, allow the grapes on the vine to ripen well in their own time. The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes remained on the vines well into autumn, enjoying sun-drenched Californian days and cool, crisp nights to develop their complex flavors. The Cabernet grapes were aged in American oak for 16 months. The wine has intriguing and layered flavors. The Bogle is a powerful, full-bodied, soft, round red wine. Despite 12 months of oak aging, the juiciness remains well preserved in this Bogle. Concentrated red wine, blackcurrant, and plums complemented by hints of wood and chocolate characterize the aroma. This Bogle Cabernet Sauvignon pairs particularly well with rib-eye steak, grilled, barbecued, or pan-fried, large game, or with hard cheese after dinner.
