- Description
2025 Wijngoed Lenoire Vier 't Laeve Rosé is anything but an average rosé. This gastronomic rosé is made for the dining table, not exclusively for the terrace. Inspired by iconic rosés such as López de Heredia Viña Tondonia Rosado and Clos Mogador Rosat, this is a wine with structure, depth, and aging potential. Particularly captivating even when young, it develops even more complexity, finesse, and gastronomic versatility with a few years of bottle aging. Lenoire Winery Lenoire Winery belongs to the absolute top of Dutch viticulture. Exclusively classic grape varieties are cultivated on the calcareous marl soils of the Rasberg in South Limburg. The estate's philosophy is clear: quality over quantity. Every wine is given ample time to develop optimally and is made with the same care and precision characteristic of major European wineries. No rushed work, but thoughtful vinification, low yields, and long aging ensure that Lenoire wines distinguish themselves through their refinement, gastronomic versatility, and excellent aging potential. For more information about Lenoire, please refer to the Winery tab. Celebrate Life Rosé The name Vier 't Laeve means "celebrate life" in Limburgish. The label, designed by Bas Lenoire in collaboration with artist Guy Olivier, depicts a lively South Limburg restaurant where gastronomy, wine, and togetherness take center stage. In doing so, the wine embodies exactly what it is intended for: enjoyment at the table. Vier 't Laeve Rosé is made from 100% Pinot Gris. Thanks to extended skin maceration, the wine gains extra color, structure, and depth. This style is known in Italy as Ramato , named after the characteristic copper color that Pinot Gris can impart. Subsequently, the wine ages partly in ceramic and partly in used foudres, creating extra complexity without losing its fresh character. Not your average rosé While most rosés are meant to be drunk as young as possible, Vier 't Laeve Rosé is specifically built to develop further. The combination of skin maceration, complete malolactic fermentation, aging in ceramics and used foudres, and the natural structure of Pinot Gris results in a rosé that only becomes more interesting with a few years of bottle aging. The style is reminiscent of great gastronomic rosés such as the legendary Viña Tondonia Rosado from López de Heredia or the characterful Clos Mogador Rosat : wines that do not revolve around primary fruitiness, but around tension, complexity, texture, and exceptional versatility at the table. Scent, taste and character The wine opens with aromas of wild strawberries, raspberries, red roses, and subtle spiciness. These are followed by refined floral notes and a light minerality. On the palate, Vier 't Laeve Rosé immediately reveals its serious character. The juicy red fruit is supported by a fine structure, refined tannins, and a lively freshness. Ceramic aging preserves the purity of the fruit, while the foudres used provide extra texture and depth. Furthermore, full malolactic fermentation ensures a subtle creaminess without losing tension. The finish is long, refined, and gastronomic, with notes of red fruit, herbs, flowers, and a mineral freshness that invites the next sip. A rosé to keep Vier 't Laeve Rosé is a wine that distinguishes itself from virtually all rosés on the market. While most rosés reach their peak within one or two years, this wine will continue to develop. With a few years of bottle aging, additional nuances of dried herbs and spices emerge, along with an even greater harmony between fruit, structure, and minerality. That makes this wine special not only for rosé lovers, but also for collectors and gastronomic restaurants looking for a rosé with real depth. Drinking window and food and wine pairings Vier 't Laeve Rosé is already impressive, but will develop further and gain in complexity over the next five to eight years. Preferably serve the wine at 10 to 12°C, so that its aromatic finesse, tex
