La Clape L'Ancely 2017 Chateau de la Negly

L'Ancely is a one of the flagship wines of Château de la Négly from Mourvèdre grapes grown in La Clape along the Languedoc coast; the 2017 vintage beautifully showcases the rich charm of these grapes. La Clape is a dry, sunny region, offering ideal conditions for late-ripening varieties such as Mourvèdre. Jean Paux-Rosset operates a 50-hectare vineyard composed of diverse soils, including the silty sand and sandstone of Boède and the clay-limestone of La Négly. This wine is already supple and approachable. Rather than waiting, it's best to let it sit in a decanter briefly; however, judging by its texture, it also appears to have ample aging potential
