Chassagne Montrachet Morgeot Marquis de Laguiche 2023 joseph Drouhin

White Burgundy from the Côte de Beaune: joseph Drouhin produced this Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru Morgeot, made from 100% Chardonnay grapes grown in a 2.26-hectare vineyard. This vineyard is owned by the Laguiche family; their vineyards were spared damage during the French Revolution period and remain in the family's hands to this day. The 2023 vintage had a rather mediocre summer with copiously rain, with the first Chardonnay picking around 28 August. After being gently pressed in a pneumatic press, the wine was aged in 30% new oak barrels, the same proportion used for most of the Drouhin white and red wines. Enjoy this wine between 2027 and 2040.
