Chateau Mouton Rothschild 2015 — 15638 — 15638

The 2015 vintage of Château Mouton Rothschild is a Pauillac and a First Growth red wine, primarily composed of Cabernet Sauvignon. This blend consists of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc, harvested from 84 hectares of vineyards. Although higher-than-average rainfall fell in August and September, the total precipitation for the year was 706 mm, compared to the annual average of 862 mm, and temperatures were slightly above average. The harvest took place over 23 days, from the 14th of September to the 6th of October, allowing the grapes to be picked in the order they ripened in each plot. The berries were small and yields were low, resulting in a high concentration of grapes in the fermentation tanks. Fermentation proceeded rapidly. The wine was subsequently aged in 100% new oak barrels and bottled in mid-July 2017.If drinking while young, decanting is recommended. It is best enjoyed between 2025 and 2055
