- The story goes that Panettone was invented in Milan during the reign of Ludovico di Moro. On the occasion of a banquet, the pastry chef made a preparation, which, according to custom, had to be a real delicacy based on marzipan, dried fruits, spices and honey. Unfortunately for him, he burned his cake. He had to find a backup solution very quickly and called on his apprentice, Toni, who had prepared sweet breads for the cooks' table. These breads were prepared by hand from a mixture of flour, eggs, butter, sugar and yeast, all decorated with a handful of raisins and candied fruits. The distinguished guests present looked with surprise at the bread that was served to them. They tasted it and wondered: "But what delicious bread is this?" A response came to them: "Toni's bread". "We need to find a name for this delicacy... El pan de Toni, we'll call it Panettone!" And that's how this famous sweet bread was invented, now a must
- have during the holiday season. Available in a multitude of recipes, Panettone is now popular all over the world!
- This classic Panettone is stuffed with raisins and candied orange peel. Its crumb is soft and sweet, its aromas are fruity and spicy. A real treat for all gourmands!
